The photo above was taken in 1932. Jeannette MacDonald was an American singer and actress who was in the business from 1909 until 1959. She appeared in television, radio, and stage, but it was her musical films released in the 1930s that put her on the map. These include “Love Me Tonight” and “The Merry Widow,” which she starred opposite Maurice Chevalier, and “Naughty Marietta,” “Rose-Marie,” and “Maytime” with Nelson Eddy.
