Country rock and folk musician Johnny Cash was known infamously for his run-ins with the law. Very few people got to see this intimate and loving side of The Man in Black.
He mixed in with felons, prisoners and hard boiled criminals with his performances at Folsom Prison and San Quentin. His live recording at the places showed a different side of the famous Mr. Johnny Cash, one that involved being a reprieve for the souls inside the walls of prison. You can actually hear the happiness of the people amidst the hootering and hollering. Johnny Cash was that simple kind of happiness for his audiences.
