Simply put, the man will not conform. Paul Newman stars as Cool Hand Luke who always had a thing for running into the law.
The movie opened with a drunk Newman cutting the heads of parking meters just for the fun of it. Newman’s portrayal of this war veteran is subversive to say the least. Cool Hand Luke’s story revolved around the penitentiary and the men who worked hard at day in a chain gang who were still the rabble rousers that they are at night even at the pain of punishment and more hard labor.
Old Blue Eyes Newman delivered a powerful performance for the movie that is considerably earned a rightful place among the ranks of silver screen classics.
