Marlon Brando dressed as his character Stanley Kowalski during a wardrobe test for ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’

He has yet to film the movie but the enigmatic actor Marlon Brando definitely already looks the part!

A wardrobe test is where the actors get dressed and made up exactly like how their characters would appear in a particular movie, and is usually done ahead of time before the actual filming in order to get the exact desired looks.

Marlon starred in the Elia Kazan-directed “A Streetcar Named Desire” alongside Vivien Leigh (Blanche DuBois), Kim Hunter (Stella Kowalski), and Karl Malden (Harold Mitchell). It was released in 1951 and was based on the stage play of the same name by Tennessee Williams. We’re guessing that the photo above was taken either in August or September 1950, as signified by the numbers 8-9-50 that looks like a date written at the bottom part of the board. Other information such as in the set location and during which particular scene he will be wearing this outfit are also indicated on it.
