Some scenes in salons and beauty shops never seem to have changed, but these ladies do look more classy even if they're just getting their hair dried!
The photo above was taken Samuel H. Gottscho in 1961 in New York, showing some rows of seated ladies waiting for their hair drying session in a salon in Fifth Avenue to be over. While the machines don’t look very much different from the ones we have at present, the ladies seem to be just a teeny bit more classy. Also, do salons still make their clients wear robes these days?
