Salvador Dali looking regal beside a flower-crowned friend at a party

A party as crazy and visually spectacular as the Rothschild's Surrealist Ball won't be complete without the master of Surrealism himself!

The photo above was taken during the lavish and legendary Surrealist Ball Party hosted by French socialite Baroness Marie-Helene de Rothschild at the magnificent Chateau de Ferrieres in the countryside outside Paris. The coat-and-tie and formal dress dinner party was held on December 12, 1972, attended by members of the Parisian high-society. But, a Surrealist Ball Party would never be complete without the presence of master surrealist painter Salvador Dali, pictured above looking positively elegant and regal at 68!
