Bob Dylan and Suze Rotolo Standing on the Sidewalk in Greenwich Village

Pop quiz to all Bob Dylan fans out there: Why do their outfits look familiar? Read on to find out the answer!

It’s because this shot was part of the series of photos taken by CBS studio photographer, Don Hunstein on the streets of Greenwich Village in 1963 — the same series that had the shot that ended up as the cover art for Dylan’s second studio album, The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan.

Rotolo, who was Dylan’s girlfriend at the time (they were in a relationship from 1961 to 1964), is widely known to be Dylan’s muse and a strong influence to his music. At the time this photo was taken, she had just returned from her stay in Italy.
