We’re only half-way through 2013 but so much has already happened, especially on the music scene. Artists like Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Daft Punk released new albums after years in hiatus, and the airwaves have enjoyed quite an explosion of genres ranging from synth-pop, indie, hip-hop and many more.

Having said that, the people from TIME.com recently published a list of the best singles released this year so far. Personally, some of the songs in this list aren’t my cup of tea, but you gotta give them props for variety.

Besides James Blake and Daft Punk songs (that I love) I have no clue about the rest of the list. It's a fact I'm so frumpy this year. Meanwhile my tablet is playing a mix of Erik Satie (1880's), Philip Glass (1980's), Mazzy Star (1990's), Iron Maiden (2000's) & Dirty Little Rabbits (2000's).
