A Young Queen Elizabeth II Being Helped into Her Raincoat While A Crowd Looks On

It seems like a small, inconsequential thing, but what really caught my eye in this photo is the fact that the Queen is wearing boots. Knee-high, stark white boots.

This photo was taken in July 1970 while she was visiting the town of The Pas in Manitoba, Canada.

As for the earlier comment about her footwear of choice here, don’t tell me that it’s not a rare sight? The words cute and trendy are not exactly the first words one would use to describe the Queen, but it pretty much fits the bill her. Quite unexpected.
