Olivia Newton-John getting a peck from co-star John Travolta on the set of Grease (1978)

Olivia Newton John and John Travolta couldn't seem to hide their chemistry -- even off screen, as evidenced by this behind the scene snap from the set of Grease!

Today marks the 35th premiere anniversary of the 1978 film adaptation of Grease, the 1971 musical of the same name by Warren Casey and Jim Jacobs. Propelled by the historic pairing of John Travolta as Danny Zuko and Oliva Newton-John as Sandy Olsson, the classic movie became popular for its story of a teenage summer romance set in the late 50’s. Also, one can’t discount the memorable melodies and production numbers that earned it the distinction of being one of the most successful and highest grossing musicals to date!

In the photo above, it’s easy to spot the exciting chemistry between the movie’s iconic lovebirds — to the man behind the lens who captured this tender moment of off screen flirtation between Travolta and Newton-John, good job!
