Today, May 17, is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, so this week's PYHOF offers a list of songs that aims to bring pride and inspire acceptance! Get ready to stand up and wave that flag proud!
The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) was conceived in 2004 to commemorate the day that the World Health Organization (WHO) removed homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases’ list of mental and behavioral disorders in 1990.
As the event’s name implies, the main purpose of IDAHOBIT is to raise awareness against discrimination towards the LGBT community. In honor of this, this week’s PYHOF presents a playlist that supports such ideals.
Editor’s Note: To provide you with a more out-of-the-box list, we’ve purposefully left out some of the older classics and ubiquitous anthems and added some contemporary tunes that also inspire empowerment and pride. We hope you enjoy!
