Record Store Day is a day when record store owners, enthusiasts and artists band together to celebrate the art of music. For this week’s PYHOF, we bring you a selected list of songs that will be exclusively released for the occasion! Enjoy!
Celebrated every third Saturday of April, Record Store Day started in 2007 as an effort to support independently-owned record shops and reintroduce the magic of vinyl to people. Since then, it has evolved into an international event with more stores joining in on the celebration, and more artists participating and producing exclusive special releases.
In fact, this year’s list includes around 500 titles, including a reissue of the 10th Anniversary Edition LP of The White Stripes’ album, Elephant and with Jack White as the event’s official ambassador.
If we could add all of these songs in our playlist, we would. But for now, here is a selection of titles that you can enjoy for now.
The Stars (Are Out Tonight) by David Bowie
Maybe I’m Amazed by Paul McCartney & Wings
Entertainment by Phoenix
Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes
Church Mouth by Portugal. The Man
Why Can’t I Be You? by The Cure
Open by Rhye
Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
