It's April and yesterday it was still snowing here. Yes, really. I don't even live on the North Pole. It was snowing here, in Slovenia, in the middle of Europe, in times when spring should already be in full bloom.
I’m a winter child. I love everything about winter: I love snow, skiing, sleighing, making snowmen, snow fighting. I love every second in wintertime. I’m not bothered by the cold; I enjoy it. But, it’s been the longest winter in Slovenia in the last fifty years. It all started in late October, when we got first snow (I remember it quite well because I made some cute photos of first snow and I was so happy and thrilled and ecstatic) but we’re in April now, which basically means we’ve had winter for the past 6 months. It’s crazy! People, myself included, are cranky all the time, the weather is depressing, and we’re in desperate need of some sunshine. Come on, sun, bring it on!
I want this:
Here are some photos of the fist snow we got in late October (it feels like a century ago):
Weather forecast is not optimistic at all. It says we’re going to have one depressing month ahead of us. I need colors, I need sunshine, I need flowers, I need happy faces around me, but I guess I’ll have to wait. In the meantime I can just bury myself in the past memories and photos from the times when spring came at the time it was suppose to come. I love last year’s photos from blooming trees. We call these trees Japanesse cherries, I don’t know if this is their official name, but we call them that way. They are basically the most gorgeous blooming trees I have ever seen. Just passing them in the springtime brings a smile to my face. They are pure beauty, their flowers are light pink color and they truly look beautiful in the sunshine, just look at these photos.
