April 10, 1970 was a particularly sad day for the fans of iconic British rock band The Beatles. On that day, Paul McCartney sent out a press release announcing his departure from band, just a few days after his solo debut album was set to be launched. While he did not directly say that the band had split, it has been believed that his statements about the group, their management by Allen Klein, and his unyielding statement that it’s over for the Lennon-McCartney songwriting duo, nevertheless effectively severed the ties for everyone in the band.

While fans from the past and present have been scrutinizing many angles, theories, and speculations about the group’s break up, everyone observed that the split was the result of a strained relationship further weakened by artistic differences as well as financial and legal conflicts.
