Whew, that was a mouthful!
Photo by Philippe Halsman via Magnum Photos
Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí lived a life full of art, from learning about painting as a child during vacations with his family, to becoming an independent and eccentric art student, to experimenting with various mediums like sculptures and film, to collaborating with fellow bohemes.
The fruits of his artistic labor and influence can be seen in this very well-attended 1963 book signing that had Dali smiling/screaming from ear-to-ear—or moustache-to-moustache, rather. The scene was captured with a fisheye lens by Philippe Halsman for Magnum Photos.
