Perfect Combination: LC-A on the Outside, Agfa on the Inside

My favorite combination is feeding my very hungry Lomo LC-A with a roll of Agfa CT Precisa. The camera feels right in the hand, and the result is always surprising.

I can still remember my first roll of cross processed Agfa CT Precisa coming back from the lab, after having spent some time in my Lomo LC-A. The colors from this film, if cross processed, are crisp and green, or blueish, depending on the color correction the lab always does, you never know what you are going to get back.

The LC-A is small and easy to always carry with you, easy to operate, and gives accurate exposures, and has a wide angle Russian lens; the Agfa CT Precisa (100 ISO 36 exp.) film is relatively cheap, and performs well. To me that is the best combination available for color film. Another advantage is that if you don’t cross process the film you can easily convert it to digital yourself, since the colors don’t need to be inverted when scanned, as is the case for negative film.

However, if overexposed, the result can be too bright sometimes. This is especially true when doing double exposures, which is why I have taken the habit of doubling the ISO-indicator on my camera when shooting multiple exposures, so that the exposure time is halved.

The Lomo LC-A is the camera that started the Lomography movement. With full controls and wide ISO range, this automatic gem is perfect for beginners and professionals alike. Get your own Refurbished LC-A in our Shop!
