At the beginning of every roll, you take that first test shot to make sure that the film is properly fed into the camera. Most of the time, the first frame turns out to be overexposed nothingness. Sometimes, it's a significantly light burned photo that leaves you thinking of "what might have been."
This is the medium that Turkish architecture student Dilşad Aladağ chooses to work on. With half a blank canvas to work with, she fills in the missing parts of the photo with simple sketches based on memory or fiction. Part of the series “little drawings”, the results turn out to be charmingly nostalgic imagery with some of its mysteries unfolded.
It’s definitely some inspiring work and I’m sure Lomographers are eager to try their hand at this kind of mixed media art. I myself have several first shots with film burns but, unfortunately, I was not blessed with sketching skills and can only draw stick people so my light leaked photos will probably stay blank. But we’d love to see your illustrations or interpretations of “little drawings” so get inspired and show us what you’ve got in the comments below!
Wearable Andy Warhol Art How about some art for your closet? Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo recently tied up with the Warhol Foundation to reproduce some of the artists' most ubiquitous pieces—such as Campbell Soup and Dollar Signs—on their popular basic shirts and I was lucky enough to receive one as a gift!
Past American Presidents in Color "Full victory—nothing else," echoed Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1944, but what really makes a good leader? On Presidents' Day 2013, TIME.com recognizes the service, sacrifice and success of former US heads of state by giving readers a brief history lesson illustrated by colorized versions of iconic presidential portraits.

My Flying 120N Holga Working in the photography department at the South Australian School of Art for the last six years, I have seen photos shot from just about every angle conceivable. Developing my own work to stand out from the norm led me to combining a few obsessions; Holgas, electronics, and radio-controlled multirotor aircraft.
The Meopta Stereo 35 aka The View-Master Camera In my junior year of college, I had a crazy idea for a project for my directed study class. I wanted to create my own view-master reels, and to my surprise a view-master camera not only existed, but was available for purchase. Everything about this camera was a difficult trial and error challenge, but the end results are a one of a kind gem.
