Made for Each Other: LC-Wide and the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 35mm

The most impressive effect I have ever seen on my pictures is when I have used the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 (35mm) film and my LC-Wide. It is the combination that has given me the most spectacular double exposures. And now my LC-Wide's heart is broken as the film is completely out of stock...

This story of love reminds me a little bit of Truly Madly Deeply, the movie with Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson. I hope you will see why I say so after finishing reading.

Everytime I have used the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 (35mm) film, at least one of the pictures in the roll has blown my mind. The photo above is one of them. When I pressed the shutter to take a sneaky and naughty picture, I didn’t think that the result would be a picture with great shadows and so charming.

This is the story of love of two of my favourite Lomography things.

My LC-Wide met the Chrome film in the city of Warsaw (great place for a first date).

Then they had a little bit of a trip together. They started in Germany, close to Liechtenstein; it was time to do new tricks and the trick chose was the double exposures and this is what they created:

The next stop was The Netherlands. It wasn’t their greatest time, for their love to be at its maximum sun is needed and a winter in Groningen is pretty dark.

After such a dark winter it was necessary to get nice sun again, and the results with the best sun in the world (tropical sun) couldn’t have been better, what a climax for a last meeting!

Sadly, the Chrome film isn’t made anymore. Does that mean the end of a lovely story? Well…no! I don’t know why, but after having used the Chrome film only a couple of times, I decided to make a big order of that film. There are still around 10 rolls that are awaiting to meet the LC-Wide and do amazing things together. It will also be the time for the LC-Wide to learn to let go the Chrome film, just like Juliet Stevenson in Truly, Madly, Deeply.

I can say already that it will be a very sad and long goodbye…

The Lomo LC-Wide boasts the newly-developed 17mm Minigon Ultra-Wide Angle lens. This 35mm camera wonder is the perfect companion for your photo expeditions. It produces eye-catching splashes of colour with astonishing saturation and contrasts with the added versatility of 3 different formats. Open up to a new photographic experience with the LC-Wide, available in our Shop.
