My 2013 Analogue Bucket List: I Would Like to Have Some Hard-to-Find Cameras

I started with the analogue photography and lomography just one year ago. I have collected 38 different cameras. I am missing only other 3 cameras. They are HARD TO FIND!

Yes, they are hard to find. If you check online and you are lucky, you can find one of them but for sure you have to pay a lot of money to grab it.

I’m talking about 3 vintage cameras. Their value many years ago was very cheap. Today, they are very expensive because they are a rarity.

Now, let me introduce you to these hard to find cameras:

1. Fujipet Thunderbird Astro Boy Edition

Fujipet launched the ThunderBrird series in the 1950’-60’s. All the items of this series are very rare because they were sold only in Japan. The “Astro Boy” Edition is ultra-rare. It is a model inspired by the manga AstroBoy that was created in the same years.

2. Zeiss Ikonette 35

Ikonette 35 was created by Zeiss in 1958. It was a 35mm camera with a nice design. It had only one defect: the light leaks! For this reason, it was rather hastily recalled and withdrawn from the market.

3. Votron Star Shooter

This one is a true toy camera. When it’s closed, it seems like a toy reflex camera for children. Once you open it, it turns into a Voltron toy robot that shoots pictures using a 110 film cartridge.

What do you think about these rare cameras? I hope that one of these 3 hard to find cameras will be in your analog wishlist as well!

Wow, these look amazing : ) Good luck with your search!
My latest camera purchase was not so rare, but equally as cute, in my oppinion, the Imperial Mark XII it takes 620 film. I got mine in teal colour. Beautiful.
    Dolly.

In 1967, my girlfriend had a "La Dia de los Muertes" camera that looked like little skull, took 126 film cartridges, advanced the film by working the jawbone, a flash bulb socket out one eyehole, a viewfinder out the other, and the lens in the nose hole, and a string to hang it around your neck. She bought it on Olvera St. in LA on Halloween 1967 and it was stolen with her purse about a month later. 1 roll was developed from it, and it looked pretty good. The relationship lasted about a month also, she gambled a lot. I'd like to find one of those skull cameras, but not the girl.

@herbert-4 The thief should have to steal the girl, not the camera . . :p

There has been one Ikonette for sale on Swedish ebay for a while, it has some cracks in the plastic and the guy wants to start at 28 euro but no one wanted to buy it. I think it looks nice but i try very hard not to be a collector :-) http://www.tradera.com/zeiss-ikon-ikonette-auktion_1408_177818027
