Newcomer of the Week: Simeon-Hannebicq

New not only to the Community but also to the ever-graceful analogue photography, we have got to meet this newcomer from France!

Young and talented, this guy may have few in his LomoHome but he sure is one to look out for! See, he was even in last November’s Most Popular Newcomer Photos. So let’s all be hospitable and welcome Simeon!

Name: Siméon Hannebicq
Lomography Home: http://www.lomography.com/homes/simeon-hannebicq
Location: Lille, France.
Current film camera(s)": Canon EOS 300 (Canon EOS Rebel 2000)

How did you find out about the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

I discovered the site thanks to a friend who is already registered here, aldaer. The Community is pleasant and allows me to discover many things. We find here many different styles, various cultures… I really enjoy it.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

The rule #2 which is Use it Anytime — Day and Night.

In this digital age, why still film?

I really appreciate the sensitivity this media allows. The feelings are much stronger and deeper. It could be considered as a visual nostalgia.

What are you looking forward to in our Community?

[I am looking forward] to enhance my creativity by getting inspired by other’s works, to discover new things, to learn new techniques, just to name a few…

Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment? Why?

My favourite and actually only camera is a Canon EOS 300. It belonged to my dad, so I’m really attached to it. This camera is moreover really easy to manipulate due to its light weight and its easily-held shape.

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

The camera I’d like to buy as soon as I can afford it would be a Belair X 6-12 City Slicker.

Please share your current favorite Lomograph.

I’m still a rookie and don’t know the Community enough already to see my opinion considered as serious, but I would go for sandkorn work. Her pictures have non-only beautiful compositions but are also generally easy to understand. I like it!
