The beginning of the year is the best time to set yourself some goals for the beautiful year ahead! For 2013, I want to share with you my 5 analogue resolutions!

2012 was quite a big year for me in terms of analogue photography! I expanded my camera collection, tried cross-processing for the first time and made significant increase in the number of photos I’ve taken. This year, I want to keep the ball rolling and have decided to set myself some goals for 2013

Think LESS and Shoot MORE

I find that my problem in terms of photography is that I think too much about composition, lighting and subject matter. Because of this, I shoot less. So this year, I’m going to think less and hopefully I would shoot more!

Try Developing B&W at Home

Last year, I purchased some cheap Ilford black and white film as well as a developing tank. This year, I’m going to finally try some black and white developing at home and if all goes well, I’m going to save quite a bit of money!

Do More E6 Processing

With the money that I save from developing black and white at home, I’m going to use it for E6 processing! My recent trip to Hong Kong has allowed me to stock up on some unexpired slide films (at a reasonable price). I’m looking forward to learning the art of slide film!

More Film Swaps

Last year, I did one film swap. I know…. it’s pathetic. But this year, I’m going to improve and do at least 6 swaps!

Scan and Organise ALL My Negatives

This resolution might be my hardest as scanning is one of my least favourite things. Having a cat at home means that my scanned images are prone to dust/fur. This means, I have to take extra steps in cleaning and wiping my flatbed scanner. Argh. So this year, I’m going to scan as I develop (rather than leave it all at once) and have a proper filing system so I can keep all my negatives nice and tidy!
