The Story of gmoscarda's First Analogue Prints by the LomoLab

Right after the official launch of the pure analogue print service by the LomoLab, Lomographer gmoscarda from Rotterdam The Netherlands couldn't wait any longer and ordered his first two prints. Curious about the results? We did a quick interview.

You might have seen it — Lomography goes back to pure analogue way of making prints. Why? The answer is simple — creating prints straight from the developed film is pure magic and the quality is just outstanding. Where several small labs in your own surrounding slowly disappear like snow in front of the sun, Lomography is keeping this amazing service alive. Go check out the special Microsite of the Analogue Print service and discover all possibilities.

The first Lomographer from The Netherlands who got his first two analogue prints is gmoscarda from Rotterdam. Curious about his experience we asked him some questions:

What is your name and LomoHome?
My name is Giuseppe Moscarda and my LomoHome is gmoscarda

What print option did you pick and why?
I choose one color matte without white border and one b&W matte with white border. Both prints on aluminium sheet with hanging frame. I choose the aluminium with hanging frame because I believe it exalts the images. I decided to not have the white frame for the color picture because I think it fits perfectly only on b&W images.

Which pictures did you pick for printing and why those?
I choose one B&W and one color as first print to see the different results. Selecting the actual pictures was based on the favorite photos by me and by my wife.

Where did you place the prints in your house?
Both pictures I placed on the wall around the living room.

Why is this print service more special to you than a regular print service?
This printing service is special because it is entirely analogue, it use premium quality materials which delivers an astonishing perfect result.

Giuseppe was so kind to give us a sneak peak of his own house where he placed his prints. Check out this gallery!

Need help, how would you guys frame a photo shot with a sprocket rocket? it's for a gallery show. you think it would be better to frame it with a mat board/border or without? black or white mat? Thanks in advance!

@provocarteur - Lomography isn't only offering standard and square formats (in various sizes up to 60 x 80 / 70 x 70 cm) but all those special panoramic film formats and exposed sprocket holes can be done as well! Simply drop off your Spinner 360°, Sprocket Rocket or Horizon negatives and the LomoLab crew will do the rest.

For a gallery show I suggest to go for a hanging frame and prints without a white border. definaltey mat. but this is pure a matter of taste. check out all options at the microsite and see for your self! http://microsites.lo(…)com/prints/
