Dear Lomo Santa, I been really good this year. I took a lot of photos and I wrote a lot of articles. Here is my Christmas wish.
Since it’s the Christmas season, I will just be a kid, close my eyes, pray, and really concentrate hard on my Lomo wish. And that is, for Lomograhy X-Pro Chrome 100 to make a come back.
I have used a couple of slide films before; and when I am asked about my favorite, I always tell that it’s the rather rare, Photo Porst Chrome X 100. However, because I only used about 5 rolls of that film, I never really got to be so sure of its consistency. This film is practically non-existent.
When I got to try the Lomography X-Pro 100, I was happy because it seems as though it could match or even surpass the beauty of Photo Porst. The best thing I like about the X-pro 100 is that it does not shift much in color when cross processed. The colors are simply saturated. I also love that it has really fine grain. I knew that it will always be my top choice for slides.
Unfortunately, it is no longer in the roster of Lomography films. I am not sure if it is just out of stock, or Lomography has ran out of it. I only have about ten rolls remaining, and I am starting to be very picky of occasions I feel I ought to use it.
So, if there is a Lomo Santa out there, I hope he can find a way to bring back this wonderful film. That being said, I also wish Lomography can actually acquire some of Kodak’s patents of some of its slide films like the EBX, and start producing their own film. have been reading a lot of blogs speculating the Lomography is negotiating with Kodak. I hope it is true. Is it? Lomography, tell me it is.
With slide films being discontinued almost every few months, I hope Lomography can provide us with some security that the analogue future is really that bright that we will have variety of slide films, like the Lomography X-Pro 100, to choose from.
