Read about how snapping pictures of my cat has given me inspiration and valuable lessons about film photography.
When I started snapping pictures with my first lomo camera— a Holga 120CFN— I knew very little about what I was doing. Everything I now know about Lomography, I learned from taking pictures of my cat.
I learned about focus:
I learned about shadows:
I learned about 3D:
I learned about light leaks, bulb mode, and overlapping frames:
I learned about depth of field:
I learned about fisheye:
I learned about flash:
I learned about redscale:
And finally, I learned about making a taking that involved a cat, but wasn’t just about the cat.
I have found that my cat has inspired me to take more risks and grow more as a photographer. Consequently, as my dear little pet kitten has grown, so have my photography skills.
In case any of you were wondering, her name is Olive.
