Lightnings are sometimes happening and I want to move you away from the couch, to take your camera and do some pictures. Let me show you some pictures I took from the lightning.

On a relaxed evening, I moved exceptionally away from the warm bed and TV to shoot some pictures from the balcony. There I built myself some accommodation. You could do that a bit more professionally but it was just a spontaneous idea. Do you know when the lightning and thunder is over? You have only a few minutes to take some pictures.

So the lightning started and I grabbed a folding chair, a batch of DVDs, my little Diana Mini and an ISO 200 film.
Yes, you could have done that more professional with a panoramic camera and a tripod, but like I said before, it was a spontaneous idea.

I built a tower of DVDs on the railing from the balcony, till I could see the sky perfectly trough the viewfinder. Then, I set the Diana Mini on Bulb, more than 4 meters, and cloudy. Then, I waited until the lightning was over and I pushed the shutter. The most difficult thing was to know where the lightning could happen on the sky, because they are never seen on the same spot again.
But I’m very pleased with my first pictures!

If I see lightning again, I will use a tripod and the Sprocket Rocket.
