Twenty years may be a long, long time, but like they always say, time flies when you’re having fun! Can you believe that Lomography’s turning the great 2-0 this month? As part of the celebration, we’d like to give you guys a treat in the form of – what else? – photographs!
What makes this particular set so delightful though, is that it is a gallery of photographs taken inside the original LOMO factory in Russia back in the early 90s. A sneak peek of the place that helped start it all. The birthplace of the iconic LC-A.
LOMO was founded in 1914 in Petrograd (Saint Petersburg) back when Russia was still known as USSR. They started to mass produce our beloved LC-A a little bit late — in 1984, to be exact — but then its popularity took off, eventually spreading to other regions like the then-communist countries like Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Cuba.
And as one can see from the photos, each LC-A is assembled by hand.

Now, Lomography should resurrect another LOMO camera, the LOMO Electra 112, with improvements,
Multi exposure switch,
1/100sec flash sync speed,
make viewfinder/rangefinder bigger and brighter,
and give it a Jupiter 8 lens and it will rule the night!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!
