The Analogue Reader: Steal Like an Artist

Are you longing to create something but you just don’t know where to start? Ever wanted to be original but you have no idea how? Well, you might want to get your hands on Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon.

I bought this book about a couple months ago, and I absolutely love it. Now, don’t let the title deceive you into thinking it’s about actual stealing and heaven forbid, plagiarism because it’s not.

Written by Texas-based writer and illustrator Austin Kleon, Steal Like an Artist is chock-full of tips and advice on how to get creative, and how to take inspiration and make it into your own.

One of my personal favorite tips is #3: Write the book you want to read. Or in our case, take the photos that you want see. Makes sense, right?

What do you guys think? Leave your insights below!

Here in Lomography, we are all lovers of all things analogue, in various aspects and varying degrees. If you’re one of those who prefer reading the analogue way, you might want to check out the rest of the articles in The Analogue Reader series!
