Van Gogh's Starry Night seems to be a favorite painting of many artists to recreate in various ways and materials. Sometime last year, we showed you a paper quill version; now, read on to see the iconic painting recreated by Vik Muniz using torn magazine pages!
If you still remember the paper quill rendition of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night that we showed you a while back, we’re sure you’re going to be just as amazed at the work of Brazilian visual artist Vik Muniz. The Brooklyn-based artist has put together his own rendition of the Van Gogh masterpiece using torn magazine pages, very much like a collage on steroids.
His Starry Night rendition is just one of the famous paintings he recreated using his impressive technique. Called Pictures of Magazines 2, Vik’s collection is comprised of 9 paintings by legendary painters like Edouard Manet and Paul Cezzane. Vik recently had this collection put on exhibit on June 9 to July 28, 2012 at Galerie Xippas in Paris.
