Quiet Brilliance: Pinhole New York by Stefan Killen

Pinhole New York is a gorgeous gallery of pinhole photos made by photographer Stefan Killen over the past twenty years.

It includes photos of people, locations, and architecture he has come across in the metropolitan area of New York, and they were taken by one of the many homemade cameras he designed to hold 120 film.

A selected number of these photos were even included in the recently released photo book, Out of Focus: Pinhole Photography and Photographs by Peter Olpe, a long-time teacher at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland, and published by Niggli Verlag.

These photos are also featured on the book’s complementary exhibit at the Swiss Camera Museum in Vevey, Switzerland, from September 8 to January 12, 2013. Killen’s body of work was also showcased at the recently concluded Dumbo Arts Festival in Brooklyn.
