Car Poolers: A Photo Series by Alejandro Cartagena

When we find ourselves high atop of a bridge with our cameras in tow, we would most probably take photos of the landscape, or of the horizon. Alejandro Cartagena, however, has something different on his agenda.

Taking his camera up the bridge on the highway just outside the Mexican city of Monterrey, Cartagena points his lens down and snaps photos of passing pickup trucks. The result is the photo series entitled Car Poolers.

Voyeuristic in nature, the series offers us a glimpse in the lives of some of the Mexican construction workforce as the go about the daily grind and make an honest living.

Personally, I think it’s fascinating. How about you guys? What are your thoughts on this series? Share them below!
