The Diana World Tour Recap (Part 1)

You're invited to take a quick trip down memory lane with us and look back at the highlights of the recently concluded Diana World Tour!

These past few years, our beloved Diana camera has done a lot of traveling, visiting some amazing cities as part of an impressive traveling exhibit aptly called The Diana World Tour. Showcased in the recently concluded analogue expo were some of the finest Diana images, the original Diana clones from the Detrich Collection, and some rad customizations by the cities’ top artists!

Hong Kong

Where else should this tour of epic lomographic proportions begin than in Hong Kong, the very city where Diana was born. To commemorate the start of this event, Lomography also launched the Diana F+ Hong Meow, drawing inspiration from the panda, one of the country’s beloved symbols.

Tokyo

The exhibit’s next stop was Tokyo, where Diana and the gang were welcomed by Japanese lomographers with several fun-filled events. Aside from all the drinking, dancing, and snapshooting, the lomographers were also asked to sketch their own versions of Diana F+ clones, and challenged them to go as fun, crazy, and colorful as their creativity allowed!

Seoul

It was quite a party the Korean lomographers threw for Diana and the gang during the exhibit’s visit to Seoul. Lomography also introduced a special Diana F+ edition to commemorate the tour’s South Korean stop: the Diana F+ SnowCat. The photos certainly speak for themselves…and just look at the gorgeous Diana cake! It was actually a night and day affair for the lomographers who joined the party, with a nighttime riverside sightseeing and shooting, and a 7-hour long scavenger hunt!

Lisbon and Porto

The epic traveling exhibit also made its stop in two cities in Portugal: Lisbon, the capital and largest city, and Porto, the next largest city and one of the busiest urban areas in Southern Europe. The Portuguese leg of the tour was also highlighted by some of the very first artist-customized Diana cameras.

Madrid and Barcelona

Diana and the gang headed to Spain next, and said “Hola España!” to two popular Spanish towns: Madrid, the capital, and Barcelona, the second largest city. To commemorate the Diana World Tour’s visit in these cities, Lomography released another special edition, the Diana F+ El Toro, alluding to one of Spain’s well-known symbols: the raging bull. Aside from the Detrich collection, the events in these cities also featured some playful customized Dianas by Spanish artists.

Shanghai

The Diana World Tour’s next stop was Shanghai, China’s most populous city, where a month-long celebration was held to commemorate the Diana camera’s legacy. Some of the highlights of the tour’s visit to China include a collection of customized Diana cameras designed by Shanghai designers, and a World Tour regular, the night tour on an open-roof double-decker bus!

Diana’s globe-trotting adventures don’t end here, so keep your eyes on the Magazine in the coming days to learn more about the rest of The Diana World Tour stops!
