Paintings on Newspaper by Salvador Diaz

Paintings are usually done on canvas or applied on walls as murals, but a Mexican artist has chosen to engage viewers with artworks cleverly painted on newspapers. Find out more about his work after the jump!

One look at the newspaper artworks of Mexican artist Salvador Diaz is enough to make one realize how unique his paintings are. Instead of just creating paintings the usual way with canvas and other common medium, Diaz instead interacts with his chosen “canvas,” intervening with the newspaper article to make them part of the whole piece. The results are beautiful paintings that communicate to the viewers in a unique visual way.

Now, wouldn’t it be nice to find one of his works on the spread of your morning paper?
