The Analogue Reader: First Edition Covers of 10 Popular Classics

We've recently given you, our fellow analogue readers, the challenge of presenting your own takes on your favorite books' covers using your lomographs. If you have classics among your favorite novels, you might be interested about how they looked at first print. Take a look after the jump!

The world is set to celebrate International Literacy Day on September 8th, so to take part in the global advocacy, we’re putting an even brighter spotlight on the ubiquitous symbol of learning: books!

When we speak of books, often, what immediately comes to mind is that age-old adage which says, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” But, as Flavorwire author Emily Temple says, sometimes, you just can’t help it, as the cover art can be held responsible for your first impression of a book.

Now, before you start sharing your own lomographic takes for the covers of you favorite books, you might want to take a look at some of the first edition covers of some classic novels, both to give you some sort of inspiration and satisfy the curious book lover in you!

Emily Temple’s Flavorwire feature has many more of these first edition covers, so you might want to check it out as well!

Did we miss any of your favorite classics? Drop us a note below and we may be able to create a second installment with your beloved classic novel in it!
