Young Masters #06: Bianka Kielbasa

Bianka Kielbasa, 20 years old, from Poland and based in Sweden. After two years of practicing, she became a very expressive young photographer, who focus mostly on people. Maybe her Psychology studies helped her to understand how to catch a certain feeling in composing her pictures about human subjects.

Bianka started randomly to take pictures: thanks to two of her friends who were already interested in photography; helped her with the basics and then she got into it, trying to practice and experience herself. She is from Lodz, Poland. She says that she is a perfectionist, with billions of ideas and projects, and that photography seems to be her oxygen. In fact, she is a very inspired photographer, who loves to shoot pictures paying particular attention to how her subjects express their feelings.

One of the peculiar features of Bianka’s pictures is that she loves to take pictures of old subjects, not only of young people. Old people have all their history and experiences to tell you through their life and through their faces; each wrinkle seems to tell you a piece of their long life.

Her black-and-white portraits often melt together, the human subject and a city or town panorama, which is behind the subject. If you don’t pay particular attention to the picture, you will not realize that, but Bianka always tries to find the best background for her pictures; there is often a connection between the background and the human subject, if you are focused on the match between them.

Colored pictures will surprise you. Colors are amazing and perfectly balanced, because Bianka tries to melt them with the subject, creating some cool color matching. In fact, you can see how Bianka chooses a colored background, basing her choice on the hair color of her model. You will be amazed to see her pictures.

Alessandro Panelli (aka yo.panic or .panic) is a Medicine and Surgery student, a photographer and a writer from Padova (Italy, near Venice). Read more about Alessandro’s work and life here or add him on Facebook or Google+.
