For Instants: Shooting with Fujifilm Instax Mini at Warped Tour

What's better than attending a music fest with your favorite bands? Attending it with an instant camera on hand to capture memories with! I took my Fujifilm Instax Mini 7S to Warped Tour and got some great souvenirs!

Besides watching some of your favorite bands perform live, part of the thrill of Warped Tour is the possibility of meeting them. The average human being’s initial reaction would be to ask their favorite artist for an autograph and perhaps a photo with them. With the Fujifilm Instax Mini I got a two-for-one special!

I noticed a great deal of fest-goers getting posters, compact discs, vinyl (!!), and even water bottles signed. Like I said before, using an instant camera can get you a photo of your favorite band, which is perfect for getting signed. Unfortunately, there was no sign of instant or even analog photography aside from ONE woman I saw armed with a 35mm disposable camera. For this reason, the Instax Mini was a big hit with bands and fans alike. It made the experience much more fun and intimate.

Aside from using the camera as an ice breaker when meeting artists, the Instax Mini produced credit card-sized mementos that now serve as a reminder of the great time I had that day. The crisp, vintage-y images are really one of a kind, making them all the more special.

Instant photography is a really cool way to capture moments like the ones pictured above. If you don’t have an instant camera (or an instant back for your Lomography cameras), I highly recommend picking one up. And if you do, go out, find a music fest, and start having fun!

The Fuji Instax Mini 25 allows you to shoot sharp images from up to 35cm away with its close-up lens. This beauty has intelligent flash, a motorized 3-position collapsible lens, and uses wallet-sized Fuji Instax Mini film. Check it out with the rest of our Instant cameras here!

@stephapelvis Thanks! Don't be afraid to get up in the faces of people and bands. They'll love it!
