Make T-Shirts Not War

When Capitalism and Anti-Capitalism come head to head interesting showdowns may occur. Take this little incident between French Graffiti artist Kidult and designer Marc Jacobs as an example. It’s bound to make you take sides.

Pink Is My Favourite Crayon

What’s your favourite colour? Would it happen to be, erm, pink? Shocking pink in particular? Right, then it’s the same hue Kidult used to spray paint the word ART on Marc Jacob’s SoHo boutique. Kidult’s not new to this game. He’s vandalised a number of shop fronts already including CÉLINE, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and agnès b.

It All Ended With A T-Shirt (or two)

This time round however Marc Jacobs did not let it slide. He played a joke on the trickster by having an image of the vandalised shop front printed on a T-Shirt and captioned Art by Marc Jacobs. The T-Shirt was reportedly being sold at $689 – so much for Kidult’s stance on luxury brands’ right? Well Kidult didn’t let this little tongue in cheek stunt by Jacobs go either so he had T-Shirts of his own done. Featuring the same shop front Kidult’s T-Shirts however read: Not Art by Kidult. Ha!

Is it "Art by Marc Jacobs" or "Art by Art Jacobs" on the first t-shirt?
