This could be the most memorable experience in the Community! I´ve choosen as LomoGuru! It’s quite and honor and I didn’t expect it at all! …. But I guess the one I remember the most is when I was choosen as Lomo Home of the Day, I remember one friend sent me a text message telling me this and it definitely made my day! And because of that I could get my wide angle lens for my LC-A+.
Have you actually met people in the Community that you now consider as close friends? If yes, name at least one of them.
Yes, here in Perú I know almost all of them, r1c4rd0zk, omarionetas, barbara-barbara, joseman, tere and of course my girlfriend elizabeth2312 just to name a few. We are a very close Community and always have events like LomoWalks, safaris, or we just hangout together almost every weekend. That’s why I have so many pictures in bars. Haha! And for the international members, well, I haven’t met anyone in person but I talk a lot with grazie or atria007 or –alia- sometimes, she even asks for an interview for her Lomo architects projects.
Do you think you’ll still be taking Lomographs in the next 5 years? Why?
That’s a serious question? Hahaha! Definitely yes, every day I fall more in love with this analogue feeling!! It might sound very cliché, but it’s true I don’t even use my digital camera anymore. Concerts, parties, reunion, office, my LC-A+ is with me everywhere I go. It’s like an extension of my arm. So definitely yes! I will.
What is your favorite Lomo camera and why? Do you have any memorable experiences while using this camera?
Well I love my LC-A+, it was my first camera and I bring it everywhere. But I think my Lubitel 166+ is my favorite because of the medium format. I can feel that it’s really fragile and I should take care of it more than the LC-A+, but the images you can get are amazing. The detail and depth of field is simply amazing. You really need to stop, take your time, set the camera, focus, check, double check, breath again, and shoot. That creates a strong “relationship” with the camera. About the memorable experience, well I don’t think I have one yet, but I think a month ago I made black and white doubles with my girlfriend using my Lubitel. I enjoyed it a lot, and I think we got really cool results!
Is there any advice you can give to new analogue shooters?
Be curious and open your eyes; it’s the best way to always do and try new things and rediscover old places. It’s like being a tourist in your own town.
