A Lomo LC-A and a Summer Wedding: The Perfect Couple

I'm at that age - all my friends are getting married. I have four weddings to attend this year, I had four weddings last year, and I have already got three weddings to attend in 2013.

Weddings are great. What could be better than spending a day with close mates, celebrating the marriage of your friends and enjoying a few drinks and a boogie.

I’ve found that the Lomo LC-A is the perfect companion to a wedding – it’s small enough to fit in your pocket but it takes big photos! And when the sun goes down and the guests hit the dance floor, you can just fit a colour splash flash and keep on shooting.

Cross processing your photos enhances all those wonderful wedding colours – the girls’ dresses, the blue summer sky, the disco lights.

I took my LC-A to my friends’ wedding last June. Kath and Pete got married in Brecon in Wales. Because it was a special day, I decided to bust out a special film – a roll of Ektachrome – my favourite. We had loads of fun that day. I think the colour shift from cross processing the film really helps convey the excitement of the day’s events.

One thing is for sure, my photos are so different from anything else taken by any of the other guests and much more interesting that the cliché shots taken by the wedding photographer.

The Lomo LC-A is the camera that started the Lomography movement. With full controls and wide ISO range, this automatic gem is perfect for beginners and professionals alike. Get your own Refurbished LC-A in our Shop!

I took a diana mini and a spinner to the last weddding i attended, its so much more fun to shoot film, and somehow you manage to capture the essence of the day more. And its true, no-one has shots anything like the ones on film.

The couple is going to love the shots, so I think it makes a nice "welcome-from the honeymoon-present". I personally would love if my guests took lomos on my wedding day!!
Plus people always seem to be entertained at our beloved cameras.. Def great for weddings ;)
