What better way to welcome Spring than to head outside and enjoy the sun? This week’s installment of Influence or Coincidence with webo29 takes out to meet some skateboarders. Read on to find out more.

Life’s a breeze and we’re shooting on down the road on a skateboard. It’s hip, it’s cool, it’s street and you’d better get out of the way. Yeah, that’s right!
But hold on, who are these guys? What are they wearing? What? They’re from the 1960s? For real? Skating in the 60s? Naaah, you gotta be kidding!
Well, no.
LIFE photographer Bill Eppridge, famous perhaps for his Woodstock or Robert Kennedy shots, created this skateboarder series in the 1960s. The shots are light, at times random, and above all else, wholeheartedly genuine. No pausing, no posing, absolutely no time for frontin’.
Fifty or so years down the line, these photos are a testament to the culture of the time. Just look at the cars or what people are wearing. If you ask me, we don’t look half as cool these days.
But without further ado, here are the shots from the Lomography community which reminded me of Eppridge’s. Enjoy!
