At first I was not interested in the La Sardina until I held her in my hands, looked through the viewfinder and read in the book that she had a great wide angle lens.
At the beginning, my favorite picture with my La Sardina.

But here’s the story of how I came to owning my La Sardina.
I was planning a meeting with a photo group in Cologne. Then we made October 20 to 23 as our meeting date. Fortunately for me there was also the Lomography Store opening in Cologne back then. So on the 20th of October, I visited the beautiful shop in Cologne for the launch party
There was really a lot going on and it was nice to see all the cameras. My friend wanted to buy a camera so we took a closer look at the cameras and checked out the features. Then we saw the “La Sardina”: http://shop.lomography.com/cameras/la-sardina-cameras. At first she didn’t catch my interest. Of course I liked the design from the beginning. In particular, the Marathon had me sold. So I read up on all the information in the book and focus on the detail, “22MM WIDE ANGLE LENS”. Now I absolutely wanted the camera! We got a great discount voucher at the store opening. So we both bought a La Sardina.
From then on in Cologne, she was my holiday camera and in the three days I’ve filled it with three rolls of films. The first thing I did at home was to carry the films to develop it because I was very excited to see my first results. The La Sardina is really nice and easy to handle and you can’t do much wrong. Exactly how it should be!
A few days later I finally got my three films back and I was excited! Here are my favorite pictures from my first La Sardina films I made in Cologne:
Onto the La Sardina fever, I used a slide-film to cross-process and then tested a B&W film. The results were just as great!
Here are a few of my favorite pictures:
As i looked at the cameras in the shop it was clear that I needed more and now I’ve also made the Sprocket Rocket and the Spinner 360° a gift for myself.
So people, check out the store and take the nice cameras in your hand, let’s learn from the fine folks of LSI and go shopping as you wish even if it is just for film.
