Celebrate Your Friendship with Lomography

What to do in this colourful and sunny season? A lomo outing with your dearest friends may be one of the best solutions. Well, I spent my holidays with my best friends lomo shooting in my hometown.

During the last holiday, I went back to my lovely hometown Malaysia to visit my family and friends for about 2 weeks. Well it was another unforgettable trip. To make use of my precious time in my hometown, I spent most of my time gather with my beloved friends, meet up sand gathering. Since most of my friends are going to continue their studies in other places, I definitely don’t want to miss this opportunity to catch up with them.

Lomo cameras are a must for travelling and I decided to bring my La Sardina, Diana Mini, and Blackbird Fly back to my hometown. Lomography helps us to record those memorable little moments in our life in a unique and interesting way.

The La Sardina is one of my favorite lomography cameras simply because it is super easy to use yet able to produce amazing pictures. Its wide-angle lens fits everything from the scenes into the pictures, most importantly you don’t have to worry about the focusing since its only two focus settings. Most of my pictures are taken with La Sardina during this trip. Not to forget about the little Diana Mini’s square format that makes picture composition more interesting and the Blackbird Fly that really brings out the essence of 35mm film.

It was a fine day and I met up with a few of good friends in a shopping mall. Since it was a bright sunny day which is perfect for lomo shooting, without much hesitation I invited them to a “Lomo session.” Eventually, we moved on to a little garden just beside the mall to do the shooting. Lomography is all about to express ourselves, craziness, and freedom. Forget about camera shy and all those awkward posing moments, it is important to take lomo as a delightful experience that add more fun to our life.

The films I used were Kodak EBX and Kodak E100VS. I really like these Kodak slide films that produce high, vivid colour saturation that make the colours literately ‘pop out’ from the pictures. They are also able to show the vibrant colours of green, red, yellow, and blue inside the garden.

The unpredictable weather suddenly started to rain when the day went darker, eventually we had to run to the nearest shelter to avoid the rain. Anyway, the rain was not able to stop our lomo spirits.

May our friendship last forever!

It was such an awesome moment to be able to lomo with my friends in hometown. I am really looking forward for the next opportunity to meet with them in the future. Looking back all these pictures taken really brings back beautiful memories of our friendship.
