The La Sardina was a camera I ended up buying the same day it came out last year. The version I brought was the lovely bright red El Capitan. I thought I would give you an insight into all the places I visited whilst shooting the first roll through it. Read on to find out more.
After we have seen some lovely warm sunshine in the UK over the last couple of weeks, it has made me long for summer to come back around. So I thought I would share with you my first roll from my La Sardina, taken last summer and see what I did.
So first up we went to a place called Woodside Farm, with my friends children. It’s a great little place with a whole selection of different things include, strange animals, birds, tractors, trampolines and a helter skelter.
Next up was a trip to a local poppy field. This was the first time I have ever shot there, and I must admit I took a whole bag of cameras with me and got some great pictures especially when it was on a lovely sunny clear blue sky day.
On the way back we stopped at one of my favourite local photography locations, Pitstone Windmill. I love shooting here trying out a variety of both camera and film combinations, so it was only fair to try it out with my new camera and trying out the mx function on the camera.
The final trip out was a lovely bbq with my friends and their children. I’ve not really had much chance to photograph the kids, but I think the fact that my Sardina is bright red helps as they were very excited. They were very good and allowed me to photograph them whilst they played on the climbing frame and once they were sat down for dinner.
So that was my first roll through my La Sardina, it was a great way to find out how the camera works and what sort of results it gets and it has been in use since, I can’t wait for summer again for more fun trips out in the sun!
