I love yoga. Tears, sweat, laughter, hard work, cooperation, mutual aid, freedom, friendship. This article documents an important public demonstration of yoga in the main square of Como. All for charity and an important social project! Read more after the jump!
Are you ready, my friend?
Yes? Well… So: “three, two, one!” … and let’s begin the yoga session! (Two hours… dammit!)
Great harmony, and excellent exercises for body and mind!
This is the reportage of a yoga session in Como, a public demonstration of the Breathe Como, an association with a praiseworthy project: they train some young African boys to become yoga teachers, subtracting them from some dirty works, as a military career or a mercenary of war! Here you can see some teachers, assistants and yoga students, who will become teachers for the African boys and girls!
This is a modern version of this timeless discipline, called “Power Yoga”, very similar to Pilates and without religious components. A “high energy” session of two hours in a wonderful sunny day!
It is marvelous to exercise together with people from different places of the world. It is a great union and a wonderful friendship begins with reciprocal help between companions!
Wonderful asanas, graceful bodies movements, harmony and a great sense of peace and happiness.
Exercise after exercise… with sweat and toils as companions… and some moments of relax.
Yoga is freedom. You can taste the sensation of pleasure of your body from the fingers of the hands to the soles of your feet, enjoying the pleasure of the sun rays that gently warm your body!
Many years ago, the first few times I did yoga with my girlfriend, I asked myself: “Really I have to take off my socks?”. I was a bit embarrassed to stay barefoot, thinking that my feet will become sweaty and smelly after doing a few exercises with her.
But when I had discovered that my feet work like any other body part, with a surprising complexity of muscles, tendons and bones (as my hands), and when I started to enjoy the pleasure of hearing them free from socks and shoes, I realized that you enjoy the full pleasure of yoga only if you are strictly barefoot!
There are moments of tears and hard work…
and pleasant exercises to work off the fatigue!
So… have fun with yoga, and have fun with your friends!
