Inspired by the "Consider Uggie" campaign that began at the end of last year, in hopes the Academy would give Uggie, the Jack Russell Terrier, recognition for his performance, Lomography thinks it would be grand if the following black and white silent films received an honorary mention or two at next years Oscar ceremony!
In no particular order, here are the LomoKino films we, on the ‘Analogue Academy’ panel, have chosen to feature, in hopes they’ll grace the screens at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre next year!
The sad story of Princess Ines
Shadow Play
Family X-Mas trip to South America
My Favorite Holiday Used to Be the 4th of July
Through the Cemetery
new cat adventures :D
Catch, Wander…..Dream
creeping in the woods
Moshi Noir
Alpbach
Though the genre of the films would collectively be ‘silent’, their subcategories include documentary, comedy, and even supernatural! If it’s not too much to ask, perhaps the Academy and other organizations who recognize feats in Film can attribute more than one genre to silent films!
