Mikrobe's Auckland City Music Video Shot With The Spinner 360 Motorizer

For Mikrobe's latest music video for their song Auckland City, they decided to use our very own Spinner 360 and the brand new Spinner Motorizer! The band took the time to answer some of our questions. Read on!

Mikrobe was founded in 2009 by the members of former band called Comethebe.

“We wanted to make a smaller band that plays a bit more quiet music so the plan was to have guitar, percussion, guitar bass guitar and vocal in the band. After the 3rd rehearsal percussion was changed to drums and it caused radical changes in our music. From now on we play rock music. And we love it!”

1. Tell us about yourselves, who are the band members and what do you like to do on your spare time?
Mikrobe is a trio. Guitar: Tibor Eichinger (professional jazz musician), drums: József Czibere (professional jazz musician), vocal and bass guitar: Kristóf Vaczi (profesionnal photographer, team member of Lomography Hungary). Firstly, we played together in a former band called Comethbe in 1993. We set up our current trio in 2009 and we play monthly in small clubs in Budapest.

2. What inspired the song? What are the lyrics about?
We usually write the songs together, everybody puts his own part of it to the basic idea, and the result is truly corporate. The songs don’t have any lyrics, we rather focus on its atmosphere and feeling.

3. Why did you choose to film the video with the Spinner?
We chose Spinner because it is very interesting when a camera that shots photos is moving while it is exposing. The slow motion gives us a special possibility to change the theme while the background is the same. These kinds of effects can’t be captured on motion picture so that’s why the Spinner is so special for us. Later on we are planning to have an exhibition from the pictures of the music video, as this is actually just a very long photo.

4. What is your favorite part of the video?
My favorite part is the stripes made by the guitar and all the other blurry parts.

5. What’s next on your calendar? Any new projects you would like to tell us about?
This year we’d like to play on the bigger festivals in Hungary and hopefully on the second half of the year we can publish our first album. We are working on our next video idea something similar we did years ago by a pinhole camera.

People involved in making the video: Tibor Eichinger, József Czibere, József Ormos, Éva Fekete, Zsófia Szilágyi, Dániel Váczi , Zoltán Rév, and Kristóf Váczi.
