It isn't easy to find a secondhand camera for sale in Reykjavik. I got lucky twice. Both times in local flea market. I proudly present you my two lovers: experienced Olympus OM-10 and handsome Olympus LT-1.
I bought Olympus OM-10 in spring of 2011 in Reykjavik’s flea market. It looked so serious and promising that 62 euros seemed a fair price.
Olympus OM-10 was my third camera. I already had Zenit ET and Horizon Kompakt when I bought it. There were some jealousy scenes, but in the end all cameras became friends. It always felt good to take photos with OM-10. It’s easy to use and results always made me happy.
Even though I liked this camera a lot, I gave it as a present to my friend Ieva. She was always admiring OM-10 and I felt that she needs it more than I do. If you ever come across OM-10, don’t hesitate and buy it. I have never regretted buying one and it will always be in my heart.
In September of 2011 in the same market I bought Olympus LT-1. It was so cute and cheap (6 euros) that I even didn’t check if it works. I had to feed it with new battery and since then it works perfectly.
LT-1 is handsome and stylish. It has a synthetic leather flap which covers lens while camera is not in use. It looks like a pretty clutch. These are the reasons why this camera found a place in my heart and bag immediately.
I visit flea markets quite often and I really hope that in the near future I’ll get lucky once more. Sometimes I dream of the huge flea markets in other countries that are packed with used cameras, but then I realized that the reason why I love my cameras so much is: a man always appreciates things more when they are hard to get.
