This week, we pay tribute to the legendary actor James Dean, and the film that elevated him to his iconic status - Rebel Without A Cause, a 1955 drama that accurately depicted juvenile delinquency.
Rebel Without A Cause tells the story of Jim Stark (played by James Dean) – a troublemaker who moved to the city of Los Angeles with his family. He makes friends with Plato – a shy 15-year-old boy who idolizes him – and Judy, the girl whom he fell in-love with. Despite the love and friendship, this does not stop him from getting into trouble; he was challenged by some tough guys to participate in “Chickie Games,” which involves driving cars off to the edge of a seaside cliff.
