2012 is the year of the Lomograph! And to celebrate here are my top seven places to visit this coming year.
First of all, seven feels like a great number to plan those Lomo adventures. It’s just enough to keep us budding Lomographers happy, but not too much that it’s going to break the bank.
1. Machu Picchu
One of mankind’s lost treasures since 1911. This iconic sight is a must for any Lomographer who wants to capture antiquity, adventure and mystery in what could be the picture of a lifetime.
2. Easter Island
Claimed to be the most remote inhabited Island in the world, Easter Island is home to the incredible moai statues. Amazing wildlife, scenery and legends fill this environment with awe, making it a top choice on the Lomo Bucket List.
We know more about the stars and space than we do about the oceans. Being underwater is like being in another world, you are the explorer, time is irrelevant (until the oxygen runs out).
Long-exposure light shots are something of beauty, as if Gandalf himself has cast his magic over the lens of our cameras. All you need is a strong light source/sparklers/glow sticks, some friends and a bit of patience.
Surfing is one of the most exhilarating experiences anyone can have! To catch a wave on film would be an unmistakable classic, that would boost anyones Lomography collection.
Snow creates a wondrous fairytale wherever it falls, with clear white sheets, curious foot prints and snowman waiting around every corner, how could any Bucket List be complete without it?!
A favourite park by many, this green spectacular in the middle of Manhattan is an oasis, with the Strawberry Fields, the Betheseda Fountain and the Belvedere Castle to name but a few, there are endless picture possibilities to entice all Lomographers, making it a brilliant last choice for the Bucket List.
