This is the story of a vintage photo of London I found in a pile of papers in a suitcase at boot fair on 29th of January just this year.
It was the cold, foggy morning on the 29th of January 2012. I decided to go to a boot fair to see what goodies I could find. A few cameras were brought with some used films inside. (which I intend to process myself.) I came across a suitcase full of old papers and photos, but one photo stood out the most…
That photo was the image of the London, Parliament to be exact, back in the day when London had a smog cloud. The cloud just added so much atmosphere to the photo, as well as the lonesome lady on the bridge. I instantly fell in love with this photo. The only shame is that the photo had two marks on it as if something had previously been spilled on it. I bought a total of 5 photos from that boot fair.
The lady with the baby was my second favourite photo. It makes me feel happy when I look at it, a baby’s first birthday. It makes me think about how old that baby is now. It’s a glimpse into the life of others, through the photos they have lost and I have gained.
