Fall in Love with ‘The Artist’

Recently, I watched a little film called The Artist that has now gone on to win a whole bunch of film awards including the Golden Globes. What's special about it is that it's a silent film! Surprisingly, I really enjoyed it and kept thinking of the LomoKino throughout the movie! Here's why.

I think it’s safe to say that most generations of today have not seen a real silent film before. Or maybe, at least one that they enjoyed. I’ll be the first to admit that I thought I would fall asleep within the first 10 minutes, but on the contrary I was completely enchanted!

Here is the movie trailer :

From the trailer you can more or less tell what the plot is about so I will not go into detail about that. What I loved about it was the brilliant use of music, the engaging storyline and of course the throwback to a different era.

I found myself constantly thinking of the LomoKino during the movie. I was so inspired at all the amazing things you can achieve with just music, beautiful shots and a proper storyline. Forget all the special effects and fancy dialogue. After watching this movie, I wanted to rush home, grab my LomoKino and make my very own black & white old fashioned silent movie worthy of a Lomography Golden Globe ;)

@saysaysay I like the OSS 117 movies he did. They are a campy parody of 60's spy movies. They may not be for everyone's taste, but I laughed a lot.
